Director Martin Rehn

Martin Rehn was born in Stockholm, Sweden in 1972. Growing up he quickly found himself fascinated by the magic of movies, spending all of his allowance at the video rental store, wishing one day that he would be able to be on the other side of the camera.

Martin Rehn made his film debut in 1997 with cult classic indie horror Saint Martin's Day (Swedish: Mårten Gås). The film, about childhood friends meeting for a dinner where the past comes back to haunt them was inspired by Martin’s time at university in Lund, as well as by the works of directors like John Carpenter, George Romero, Tobe Hooper, Alfred Hitchcock and Dario Argento.

Made on a budget of only 1,5 million Swedish kronor and a cast of unknown actors, the film was lauded for its creative use of special effects and innovative cinematography.
